Sorry for the extended absence. It's been a busy month! But rest assured, I've got a bag chock FULL of goodies for you coming up, like so many Halloween bags just ... chock ... full of ... goodies ... Halloween goodies ...
ANYWAY, for now I wanted to share with you something I stumbled upon this week. Is MTV now REALLY doing subliminal messaging? Sounds like something out of the movies, or in the very least borderline illegal, right? Well in the very middle MTV's Monday night episode of Death Valley, the following image flashed on the screen for literally about 1/4 of a second:
Yep. Beavis and Butt-head. New season was set to premiere last night on MTV and they didn't want you to forget it! (as if we ever would!)
Funny, right? I wonder just many of these were flashed throughout MTV's broadcast week this week.
Out of curiosity I did a little research and found that: The TV Code of the National Association of Broadcasters (IV, 14) states: “Any technique whereby an attempt is made to convey information to the viewer by transmitting messages below the threshold of normal awareness is not permitted.” hmmm ... Very interesting stuff, but seeing as how I WAS able to perceive this, then it doesn't truly qualify as "subliminal", or "illegal. Just clever marketing, I suppose. Good for them!
So ... yeah. With that said, make sure to catch Death Valley, Mondays @ 11pm on MTV and Beavis and Butt-head, Thursdays @ 10p
